Parviz Jahed
Parviz Jahed is an independent scholar, film critic, film researcher, filmmaker and lecturer in film studies. Jahed is the editor-in-chief of Cine-Eye (Cinema-Cheshm), a UK based film journal focused on independent and art cinema in Iran and around the world. Jahed's books the 2 volumes of the 'Directory of World Cinema: Iran' were published by the Intellect publication in the UK in 2012 and 2017. His latest book titled as 'The New Wave Cinema in Iran, A Critical Study' is published by the Bloomsbury Publication in the UK in June 2022. Jahed’s documentary films primarily deal with the lives and cultural contribution of various artists, with a central focus on their artistic visions and exploring social and political themes. His films include: Ta'zieh another Narration, Bonjour Monsieur Ghaffari, Michael Culver, a portrait of an actor, The Message of the Wall, Maria a 24 hour Peace Picket, Day-Break, Coffee-cup Reading and Chakavak.
